1Wrestling.com Website Hacked, Current Status (For Everyone Concerned & Premium Members)
I received quite a bit of email from readers asking about the 1wrestling.com website. I just got off the phone and relaying the info here for everyone who was concerned.
The website synonymous with reporting WWE, TNA, ECW and indy wrestling news, MMA, and so much more for years, was hacked over the weekend. Originally, just the titles of all their news articles were changed. But soon after it affected all their content as well.
1wrestling.com was not the only website hacked. Several other websites (non-wrestling related) were hacked as well, with one being a governmental site. The sites were taken offline for the last 2 days and the hijacking is under investigation.
I can assure everyone who has a premium membership with 1wrestling.com, noone's personal information was hacked. In fact, that information is not even stored on the server and is encrypted. That can never be touched.
I feel sorry for the individuals who are responsible for this. I don't think they have a clue the magnitude of trouble they are in and the number of sites they affected.
1wrestling.com should be back up and running by Tuesday.
Bob Ryder, Bill Apter, and everyone involved with 1w apologize for what happened even though it wasn't their fault. I wanted to post this for all the readers that were concerned.
