Backstage Heat Between HHH/RVD, Interesting Jim Ross 'Burn' Notes; more
The angle from RAW in which Kane poured gasoline on Jim Ross and set him on fire was tapped the day before at WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT. The original plan is for JR to sell the injury really, really well and not return until the end of August, more than likely at SummerSlam. The main idea is that the baby face usually makes his heel turn by attacking a beloved character on the show, in this case, Jim Ross, who is one of the most loved people on RAW. WWE has done this before with The Undertaker, Triple H and Steve Austin when they had their heel turns.
Triple H has suffered another hematoma to his right leg after taking a frog splash from Rob Van Dam at a RAW show in Omaha. He will work through the injury and his match with Goldberg at SummerSlam is not in any jeaprody.
That injury clearly has not helped the situation between Triple H and RVD. They already had problems stemming from the 6/30 RAW in Buffalo in which RVD potatoed Triple H after hearing that Hunter complained about Van Dam’s kicks being “too reckless”. Rob, at first, tried to ignore the situation knowing that if he addressed the issue with Hunter it would only make matters worse. But Van Dam felt that enough was enough and confronted Triple H about the comments he made, but only got denials from him and everyone else that there was a problem. Nonetheless, this looks like a case of Triple H telling his 'friends' one thing, but when confronted by the actual player, denial sets in to avoid confrontation.
