Bret Hart Performing In Musical "Aladdin, The Magical Family Musical" In December (Canada)

Press Release
9/28/2004
Canadian superstar Bret "Hitman" Hart will return to Toronto on a different stage than fans are used to as he portrays the Genie of the Lamp in Ross Petty Productions' "Aladdin, the Magical Family Musical" this holiday season.
Ross Petty Productions returns to the Elgin Theatre for the 9th consecutive year this holiday season with another family musical adventure full of magic lamps, flying carpets, tall tales and merry mischief. ALADDIN, THE MAGICAL FAMILY MUSICAL will play from December 2 - 31, 2004.
The classic tale of ALADDIN takes place in a land far, far away, where a poor young boy, falls in love with a princess, finds a magical lamp which grants him three wishes, encounters an evil wizard, and with help from members of the audience, embarks on a journey of enchantment and romance.
Jennifer Dale makes her debut with Ross Petty Productions as the beautiful Scheherazade, teller of tall tales. A multi Genie and Gemini nominated actor (Power Play, Once a Thief, Night Heat, Grand Larceny), Jennifer most recently appeared on stage in DUSE as Eleanora Duse, the legendary Italian actor. Adam Brazier returns to the Elgin stage in the title role of Aladdin after appearing last year as The Prince in the Ross Petty Production of CINDERELLA. This summer Adam wowed audiences as Joey Evans in the smash hit PAL JOEY at the Shaw Festival. Adam also originated the role of Sky, the young groom, in the Toronto production of MAMMA MIA.
WWF Superstar Bret 'Hitman' Hart will make his Toronto stage debut as The Genie of the Lamp. Bret voices the character of the Hooded Fang in the animated series, Jacob Two-Two, based on Mordecai Richler's timeless classic and has appeared as Luther Root in Lonesome Dove: The Series. A veteran of stage and screen (Doc, My Secret Identity, Cheers, Ellen) Derek McGrath will don a wig and gown to play Aladdin's hysterical mother, the Widow Twankey. And what would a Ross Petty Production be without the man behind this yearly tradition? Ross Petty will appear as the wise-cracking Abanazar, the evil wizard of the East.
This year ALADDIN will be directed by Ted Dykstra (2 PIANOS, 4 HANDS, BULLY, THE LOWEST SHOW ON EARTH, TEQUILA VAMPIRE MATINEE), with music direction by David Warrack (SHENANDOAH, A CHORUS LINE, CLOSER THAN EVER, and the last eight Ross Petty Productions holiday musicals) and choreography by Tracey Flye (GO GO BEACH, CABARET, and ROBIN HOOD and CINDERELLA for Ross Petty Productions).
