Recap courtesy of Powerwrestling.com:
ECW on Sci-Fi Opener:
This week's edition of ECW on Sci Fi opened with a recap of the events of between Big Show and Sabu from last week. Then, Paul Heyman came on camera. He said that he was the father of ECW. He said this was his baby, his concept. He said it was his life. He said that he never wrestled in an ECW ring because he never had to until tonight. He said that tonight he had no other option but to fight tonight in an Extreme Rules match tonight. He said with his hands, he had to dismantle his own disciple and child, Sabu. He said he would pin Sabu on the show tonight.

Rob Van Dam vs. Hardcore Holly
After the open, Rob Van Dam was shown coming to the ring. He didn't look happy, for what it's worth. Joey Styles said that after getting screwed out of the ECW Title, RVD now has to work his way back up the ladder. Maybe that is why he had that look on his face. His opponent was Hardcore Holly. Yeah, that probably isn't what RVD was expecting when they restarted ECW in June. They aired a clip from last week, when Holly laid out RVD with a chair.
The start:
RVD was in control early and clotheslined Holly to the floor. After preening for the crowd, RVD went out after him. The two fought on the floor until RVD dumped Holly on the barricade and did a corkscrew legdrop on him from the apron. The crowd chanted "ECW". They headed back in the ring and RVD grabbed the top rope as Holly went for the Alabama Slam, so Holly dumped him to the floor. When RVD came back in, Holly took control and worked RVD over for the next few minutes, including a really nice standing dropkick, which got a two count. RVD then reversed a whip into the ropes and hit a leg lariat, to chants of "RVD" from the crowd.
The Finish:
RVD hit a few running clotheslines and a kick, followed by a standing moonsault for a two count. He hit Rolling Thunder and then went up for Five Star, but missed. Holly went and got a chair but RVD knocked him down before he could use it. RVD then used the chair and was DQ'd, which made no sense since the ref SAW Holly bring it into the ring to begin with. RVD followed Holly to the floor and blasted him in the head with the chair, then mugged for the crowd. Good match to start the show.
Winner by disqualificaton, Hardcore Holly
Backstage:
In the back, Rene Dupree was riding a stationary bike. He said he was in the peak of his physical condition. He is going to make his mark as the most extreme athlete to step into an ECW ring.
In the arena:
The Big Show then came to the ring as Joey Styles talked about how Show is the McMahons' resource against DX. He will be part of Hell In A Cell at Unforgiven. Show took the mic and said he wanted to set the record straight. He is the most dominant champion in WWE history. He said he took out DX at SummerSlam and at Raw last night. He talked about Hell In A Cell. He said he will seal their fate there. He said he knows that they want to mess with people's heads. He then challenged DX to a handicap on ECW next week, them vs. him. He said the King of Kings will bow at his feet because no one can beat him.
The Reject:
A Shannon Moore segment aired. He's still a freak. All he said was "fight the power".

Stevie Richards vs. CM Punk
The match:
Joey said that Stevie should be Punk's toughest challenge yet in ECW. Punk hit a nice tope early on. Stevie came back and was in control for a few minutes, even getting a two count after a suplex. Punk came back with a nice dropkick out of nowhere and started raining kicks and chops. Punk got a two with a double-arm backbreaker/powerbomb on his knee and got the pin with a uranage and the Anaconda Vice.
Winner - CM Punk
In the arena:
Matt Striker came out to the ring wearing a really short tie. It was comical. Even Tazz noticed it. He had his classroom set up in the ring. He said he was here to help the fans. He is a bonafide teacher and the fans should cheer for him, but instead they cheer for people like The Sandman. The crowd cheered. He said that Sandman is "ossified from his giggle water". He told people who didn't know what that meant to look it up. If they don't know what it means, how will they know how to spell it? He said Sandman swings a cane but his weapon was his brain. He said he was here to teach us, he is Matt Striker. Sandman's music hit and he came to the ring through the crowd. Sandman smashed a beer can on his head and went to attack Striker, who bashed Sandman in the head with his chalkboard instead. Striker used his stapler on Sandman's head and left the ring. Sandman bled from "the attack".
Backstage:
Balls Mahoney was about to cut a promo when Kelly Kelly came in and asked him if he had seen Mike Knox. He said no, so she flashed him. I guess Knox won't be happy but Balls was.
ECW Extreme Rules Match
Referee: Mickey Hensen
Sabu vs. Paul Heyman
Sabu did a promo saying that tonight he would massacre Paul Heyman. Now it was time for out main event, Sabu vs. Paul Heyman under Extreme Rules. Heyman, in a warm up suit, came to the ring with Basham security. He waited in the ring throughout the commercial break. When they came back, Sabu came out.
The start:
Basham Security stood between Heyman and Sabu and attacked Sabu when the bell rang, since it was Extreme Rules. You didn't expect a real match did you? Sabu came back and nailed both Bashams with a chair. Heyman cowered in the ring and Sabu set up a chair to use on him. Sabu jumped to the top rope and but instead launched to the floor, where Big Show was waiting. Sabu laid him out but then Basham Security joined Big Show and the three beat him up.
Mid-match Notes:
As the Bashams held him, Show threw a chair at Sabu's head. Sabu was busted open. Heyman had his goons hold Sabu up and he slapped him while he yelled at Sabu that he was ungrateful and that he made him. Show kept beating on Sabu and told the Bashams to get him a table, which they did. They set it up on the floor. Show nailed Sabu with a heavy shot to the chest. It sounded painful. Show held Sabu so Heyman could hit him. Heyman ran around the ring, excited, because he had Sabu's blood on his hand. Show kept destroying Sabu. Heyman yelled that he made Sabu, again. Sabu grabbed Heyman and Paul yelled for Show to pull him off. Sabu made a brief comeback but Show laid him out again. Show went to press slam Sabu when RVD came out and made the save. Show tried to hit RVD with the chair but got a Van Daminator instead. RVD kicked another chair in Show's face then splashed both Bashams on the floor. Sabu came back and began beating on Heyman, who had no one to save him. Sabu hit the Arabian Facebuster on Heyman. He pushed him to the floor.
The Finish:
RVD laid Heyman on the table. Sabu was going to springboard to the floor and put Heyman through the table when Show caught him in mid-air and stopped him. Bob Holly then ran out and caught RVD and Alabama Slammed him through the table on the floor. Show beat Sabu up and put Heyman on top of him for the pin. The announcers couldn't believe that Heyman did it.
Winner - Paul Heyman
The Aftermath:
Show raised Heyman's hand while Holly brought a table in the ring. Show then chokeslammed Sabu through the table. As Show's music played, he mocked DX by doing the crotch chop, setting up next week's main event.
