Revelations yield repercussions

Last week on SmackDown, after The Great Khali invaded an epic contest between Undertaker and World Heavyweight Champion King Booker, the Deadman sustained Khali’s attack and fought off the giant Punjabi warrior. The Phenom then cast a grim challenge to a Last Man Standing Match with Khali at SummerSlam. How will The Great Khali and Daivari respond? Will these two deadly rivals meet on August 20?

Amidst all the turmoil with Chavo Guerrero, Rey Mysterio will have to face the brash Mr. Kennedy Friday night. Last week Mysterio confronted Guerrero at ringside after accusations of being a “leech living off the blood of the Guerrero name.” If not for the intervention of the late Eddie Guerrero’s wife, Vickie Guerrero, these former lifelong friends might have destroyed one another. Will the former World Champion be able to focus on his match, or will Kennedy show that his wins over Batista were no fluke?

Speaking of Batista, The Animal will be forming a powerhouse pairing with fellow big man, Lashley, in a tag team match against Finley and William Regal. After several weeks of facing each other in singles competition, will Finlay and Regal be able to put their rivalry behind them and go back to being friends? Even if they can, will their skills – and maybe some help from Finlay’s Little Bastard – be any match for the power of Batista and Lashley?

That won’t be the only thing on Batista’s mind. As reported on WWE.com, General Manager Theodore Long has announced that King Booker will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Batista at SummerSlam.

WWE.com has also reported that Long has plans for bringing new Superstars to SmackDown by relaunching the New Talent Initiative. We’ve already seen the debut of several stars such as Sylvester Terkay, Elijah Burke, Idol Stevens and K.C. James. Will we meet any new acquisitions on Friday night?

The Diva Search contestants were met by a sweet surprise last week, receiving pies in their faces while addressing the SmackDown fans. Unfortunately for Erica, it was her last taste of the Diva Search as she was eliminated Monday on RAW. Friday the final four finalists will face off in a talent competition. How will the Diva hopefuls stack up, and who will be the next Diva to be eliminated from the 2006 $250,000 Diva Search?

Find out the answers to these and other questions by catching SmackDown this Friday at 8/7 CT on UPN.

Here is your 8/14 Raw preview, courtesy of wwe.com:

Hulkamania heading to Charlottesville

Last Friday, WWE.com reported that Hulk Hogan's status for SummerSlam was up in the air due to a partially torn meniscus. But Hulk Hogan spoke with WWE.com Wednesday afternoon and confirmed that he would still compete at the biggest party of the summer. Not only will he compete, but Hogan said that he would be at RAW in Charlottesville Monday night to prove to his Hulkamaniacs that he's ready to go. What will Hogan do live on RAW just six days before SummerSlam? And what will the Legend Killer Randy Orton have to say to Hogan?

Plus, the method of divide and conquer on DX has been used to perfection by the Chairman the past few weeks. First, Shawn Michaels felt the brunt of the new McMahon plan of attack; then it was Triple H’s turn. Both members of DX have been humiliated by The Chairman and his son Shane over the past three weeks, and although D-Generation X is known for their sophomoric humor and juvenile pranks, they’ve also each been the WWE Champion on more than one occasion. Are the McMahons toying with fire by antagonizing The Game and HBK? Or, have the McMahons figured out the way to completely destroy one of the most powerful entities in WWE?

While WWE Champion Edge complained about not receiving enough publicity from WWE, his SummerSlam opponent, John Cena, kept his eyes on the prize. What will Edge have to say about John Cena’s display of superhuman strength when he gave the 500-pound Viscera a thunderous FU? Cena has been fixated on reclaiming the WWE Championship and at SummerSlam, he’ll have the opportunity he’s craved. Can Cena keep his focus? Or will Edge try to find a way to distract the challenger with one week to go until they face off?

Erica Chevillar was the latest casualty in the 2006 $250,000 Diva Search competition. Immediately following her dismissal, SmackDown and Diva Search host, “The Miz” gave the four remaining finalists a chance to unload some grievances on the competition. On RAW, another finalist will go home. Will it be Milena Roucka? Jen England? Lalya El? Or J.T. Tinney?

It’s the last RAW before the biggest party of the year, SummerSlam, and for the answers to these questions and much, much more, you have to watch RAW live on the USA Network at 9/8 CT.
