WWE has officially moved their Survivor Series PPV venue from Montreal to the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL. There has been alot of buzz on the net the last 48 hours. We wanted to get all the details together to give you a brief rundown of what happened.
Simply put, WWE moved the venue to Florida. They originally announced Canada as the PPV location in their press release late last year touting the 2007 PPV Schedule. In one of our Minority Report Webcasts, we questioned WWE's decision to have the PPV in Montreal, especially since it will be the 10 year anniversary of the 'Bret Hart Screwjob'.
A few weeks back, Slam Wrestling mentioned in passing that the PPV location was being moved to Florida. In an interview over the weekend, WWE President Carl DeMarco made an erroneous claim that WWE never publicly said the PPV was taking place in Montreal which was false.
Yesterday, WWE updated their PPV schedule and now has Survivor Series taking place in Miami, FL.
That's basically it. Over the last month, some wrestling personalities have commented about the PPV happening in Montreal. In no way was anyone being deceiving. I believe people such as Jim Ross were never notified of the venue change.
Here is your official preview for tonight's edition of ECW:
Preview: Threat to the crown
ECW.com has learned that ECW on Sci Fi will be headlined by Lashley as he battles the rugged, smash-mouth Alabaman Hardcore Holly in an Extreme Rules Match. As announced on ECW.com last week, Lashley is scheduled to defend the ECW World Title at the Royal Rumble against Test - the man who battered the champion with his own title last week.
Can Lashley even make it to the Rumble after this contest with the relentless Holly? Will Test strike again, just days before his championship bout on Sunday? How far will Test go to gain what he thinks is rightfully his?
Also, Kelly Kelly promised the return of Kelly’s Exposé next week. Of course, shortly afterward, Matt Striker filled Knox’s former role when he interrupted the sneak preview in order to educate her on the distraction she is. She got even though, when she diverted Striker’s attention by taking off her top during his match, allowing CM Punk to cover him up. Will Kelly be able to bring the ECW audience the first full edition of Kelly’s Exposé?
“The Alpha Male” Marquis Cor Von roared into ECW on Sci Fi in dominating fashion. What does he have in store as he moves from the Animal Kingdom to the chaotic Land of the Extreme? According to Cor Von, anything he wants.
