Edge On MAD TV This Weekend; Jim Ross' Latest Blog; Ashley Massaro / Amnesia

Thanks to everyone who sent along THIS INTERVIEW The Miami Herald conducted with WWE Ashley Massaro. Amazing in the article, Massaro make a comment that her mother would 'disown her' and 'freak out' if she ever did Playboy. Forgive me while I scratch my head on this one. Can you say Ryan Mackenzie?

I can understand her to Kayfabe her previous Playboy shoot with WWE interviews. But to do interviews amongst mainstream media and make claims like the above is ignorant.

We'll certainly have fun with this one during tonight's webcast.

For those interested, the recent appearance Edge taped for MAD TV will air this Saturday night on FOX.

Jim Ross posted this new blog over at his website, jrbarbq.com:

WW3… UK Shipping… Mick Foley… Al Snow… Randy Couture… NFL Favs… Jericho Returns??… Jim Rome is Obnoxious… Lance Russell… Lawler @ ECW

Here is some feedback before Monday Night Raw:

Kev- I am not a multiple ring guy. If the World War 3 concept returns it will surprise me. But who-in-the-hell really knows??

Gavin- Yes, shipping liquids and meats to the UK is a pain in the backside. Do you have any suggestions? That goes for any one with business contacts in the UK. There has got to be a way, but we have been unable to get the answer. I like Lawler in the HOF even though he is still somewhat active as a wrestler. I think Jerry’s body of work has earned him this distinction.

Lou- My old commentary for Stone Cold seemed to fit at the time. Sorry you did not like it. I always thought I thoroughly embellished and gave Mick Foley his “props” so I have no clue what you are talking about there. Lastly, if I had “put over” Al Snow like Austin or Foley I am sure I would have been either drug tested or sent for counseling, in all due respect to Al.

Jonathan-TNA has bigger fish to fry over the long haul and in the bigger picture than worrying about losing the NWA name which has meant less and less since Sam Muchnick had nothing to do with it. The NWA lost its luster years ago, in all due respect to what it used to be.

George- Randy Courture is a stallion. He is a warrior. But he is fighting on “borrowed time” even though I have great respect for him. The UFC is fun but they have issues building stars that endure over time. That’s not a knock, but I am sure someone will perceive it as such.

Max- Shelton Benjamin has all the physical tools he will ever need to be a huge star. Shelton’s mental approach to the game is his challenge. He is so good that mentally he doesn’t have to turn it on every night to be successful. It all comes with time or it won’t come at all. Yes, HBK was a challenge to deal with years ago for many, but today’s HBK is awesome to be around.

Bill- I have many NFL teams that I like to watch but especially the teams with the former Sooners on them like the Bears and the Ravens among others. I keep a close eye on the Cowboys as they are just down the road.

Philly Phemon- I hear good things about Booker T’s wrestling school near Houston. It would not surprise me at all if the WWE became officially affiliated with it sooner than later. Perhaps Harley Race’s school too some day. The more GOOD schools out there the better for the future of the business.

Matt- The Trump-McMahon Battle of the Billionaires will provide Lashley and Umaga a HUGE spotlight in which to perform. What an opportunity for both athletes to take advantage. It’s a billion dollar “rub”. My advice to each wrestler is to seize the moment. I like the concept.

Jake- I NEVER said to any one or any where that Chris Jericho was coming back to Wrestlemania or to any other wrestling event. I know it is hard to believe that some wrestling websites can be wrong or run with rumor as fact - but it does occasionally happen. I love Chris, I wrote the forward to his upcoming book, but when or where he may or may not make his wrestling return is entirely up to Chris and the last time we talked he wasn’t ready to get back in the ring at that particular time.

Vanilla Gorilla- Who does Jim Rome like other than Jim Rome? Rome tries to be too cool and hip for my tastes….”clones.” Most sports’ purists never like pro wrestling as it makes them personally look bad to their “real sports” friends. Jim Rome doesn’t entertain me. I’m out!

Nick- Josh Matthews is still with the WWE but I don’t think Steve Romero is. Simon Dean is now working in the WWE Developmental areas, which I feel is the most important department in the entire company.

Will- I think a return of the XFL is “highly unlikely” as in “Oh, Hell, No”! That ship has sailed. Lance Russell is one of the great wrestling announcers of all time and a class human being. Yes, Lance was underutilized in WCW, but WCW could have screwed up a one man parade in the desert. Guys like Bill Shaw did not know “come here” from “sic `em” about wrestling or TV and should have never been involved in the cluster of all clusters. I have to give Eric Bischoff his due as he came along at the right place at the right time and was allowed to do his thing, but as soon as the WCW brass got back involved - it all went south. Coincidence or fate?

Thorsten- I don’t think King Jerry Lawler ever will like ECW and I think it stems from their old crash and burn, aggressive style of wrestling that King is not a fan of but perhaps more importantly I don’t think The King and ECW czar Paul Heyman ever were great pals. They never exchanged holiday greetings if you catch my drift.
Yes, Stone Cold is in great physical shape, but in Steve’s mind it would take him several months of training to get back in the ring for a match and his current work schedule simply isn’t going to allow it. Plus he has had several vertebrae in his neck fused which is a serious, serious matter. If I was Steve, and I have told him this, I would have wrestled my last match. Why risk the injury because unlike many older stars, Steve is not going to half-ass it or go through the motions? I expect Steve to really raise some hell Monday night in D.C. So for those that continue to drone on and on about an Austin-Hogan match, forget it. As Ron White says, “Let it go!”

Enjoy Raw and don’t forget to check out my column on the hidden Raw page on WWE.com. I also conducted a multiple part interview on WWE.com, but you wouldn’t know it by reading the site. It was a fun interview nonetheless and I hope you will check it out.

Did you know that the more sauce you buy the better the costs are on the shipping? Strange but true.

Be well and count your blessings.
