Jim Ross posted the following new blog on his website, jrbarbq.com:

Post ‘Mania Thoughts.. What J.R. Didn’t See.. HHH.. Beef Jerky Sales are Hot.. Tommy Dreamer’s Dream.. Unruly Fans.. Beefcake..

We are still getting several comments about Wrestlemania, and deservedly so, as WM23 will go down in history as one of the most memorable Wrestlemania’s ever, if nothing else because of the massive attendance setting a Ford Field record.

I never noticed the fire that apparently occurred during Kane’s entrance. I watch our monitors because that is the pictures the fans watching at home see. I never even saw the fan get in the ring at the beginning of the WWE Title Bout because I had my head down watching the monitors at our announce position.

It’s funny but not unusual that so many fans have such strong opinions on who should have won their respective bouts at `Mania. That simply means that fans do care about who wins and loses which is a great thing. I can certainly understand the disappointment some fans have over certain outcomes of the matches just as I did during the January 1st Fiesta Bowl when Boise State beat Oklahoma in a wild BCS Bowl game. No, I haven’t forgotten it yet.

It was great visiting with HHH at Wrestlemania 23 and I felt bad that HHH’s quad tear prevented him from being a part of the bouts at the WWE’s most prestigious event. “The Game” seems to think he will be back around July or so and is working diligently to rehab his quadriceps to insure that he is back sooner than later. From a personal standpoint I know full well how it feels to be sitting on the sideline and missing events and it is no fun whatsoever. The WWE superstars have seemingly always had that mindset, whereas some WCW wrestlers back in the day could have cared less if they missed a few or many events because they were paid any way and, honestly, did not seem to have an emotional investment in their own company. Sad.

Wow – our Beef Jerky is rocking out our doors and we are overwhelmed that so many of you are sampling it. Be sure and check out our 4 flavors and the special Hall of Fame offer we have currently up on our home page.

I enjoyed talking to Tommy Dreamer at Wrestlemania who said that “this day had been 17 years in the making for him”. Tommy’s passion is very admirable and the ECW Original getting the chance to perform at Wrestlemania was a memory he will take with him forever.

I really enjoyed working with all the broadcasters during the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at Wrestlemania. We met before hand to get on the same page and I felt that considering we had 6 voices participating, that the three teams did a really nice job. We were well produced and the 6 guys focused on the contest and embellished the superstar’s abilities and the on-going story of the match.

Brad asked for a Duggan/Mid South Story and there are many, but one particular story occurred on a Wednesday in the TV studios of KTBS in Shreveport when Ernie Ladd did not like the promos Duggan was doing as it just wasn’t the normal exuberant Hacksaw. Ernie called Duggan out in front of other wrestlers and the two of them came “this close” to having a fist fight in the TV studio which would have been disastrous. The two ex-footballers were nose to nose for a few moments before cooler heads prevailed, but that fight would have been intense and destructive. Bill Watts’ wasn’t there that day, which left yours truly in a touchy predicament. On a side note, whenever two wrestlers wanted to fight, Watts encouraged it in hopes that they would “get it out of their system”. Butch Reed and John Nord had a fight once that started in OKC and ended up later in the day in Tulsa thanks to the big Cowboy’s encouragement.

Aaron- Yes there were some unruly fans at the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony that caused a distraction and were disrespectful. I don’t know why some people feel compelled to act like jackasses, especially at that event. What am I missing here? Is it simply people crying out for attention or do some defiant young men simply feel that acting out is their duty. This minority really gives true fans a bad rap and gives the media more ammo to fire salvos at the business by using these few fans as the “norm” for all wrestling fans. There is simply no reason for this sort of behavior at a function like the HOF.

David wants to know if Bret Hart and HBK will ever be friends. Most likely not David, but it would be nice if they were and put their issues behind them and moved positively forward. I don’t see it happening, but never say never.

Everrude- Yes I was at a momentary loss for words when Jeff Hardy made another death defying leap from one ladder to Edge at `Mania, but I was also waiting for one of the 5 other broadcasters to hop into the conversation too. Nonetheless, Jeff Hardy created another `Mania Moment.

Robbie- No Robbie, it is EXTREMELY unlikely you will ever see Ol J.R. in a WWE Film as this aspect of the WWE will most likely feature younger individuals who have a longer shelf life than I am sure some perceive I have at this stage of my career. I have no plans on retiring, but let’s face it, making movies is essentially a young person’s business of which I have no problem with whatsoever. It would be a fun experience I am sure, but I am not holding my breath for the opportunity. I am more than content to stick with Monday Night Raw to be honest with you.

Brandon- The Tri-Branded PPV’s should provide all the PPV customers more bang for their buck which I perceive as a good thing. I really don’t see any down side of the equation as the fan can see the hottest issues on RAW, Smackdown and ECW. That doesn’t sound like a bad deal to me.

Joe- I never heard any plans to ever bring Brutas “The Barber” Beefcake to WM23 to cut a billionaire’s hair. I think that one was simply another internet rumor. We will be answering more of your comments asap. Thanks for checking out our site and please tell a friend.

Plus, thanks a bunch for the business and I hope you will try our Beef Jerky and Sauces.
