John Cena / The Marine Debuts At #6, Weekend Estimates (See No Evil Comparison Inside)

Estimates coming in for this weekend for The Marine starring John Cena are not good. Box Office Mojo reports that The Marine is projected to take in only $7,000,000 for the three day weekend, and debut at #6.

When you realize that over 2500 theatres screened the film, the $ Millions spent in advertising, plus the $20 Million (approximately) in production costs, WWE has to be disappointed to say the least. Shocked is more appropriate.

Let's see if Jim Ross opens up his mouth again and touts his nonsense jargon about the revenue John Cena's flick generated. Or lack thereof.

We will definitely talk about the film on Monday Night's Minority Report webcast. It's gonna be a dandy of a review.

Now comparing this film to the See No Evil Debut, you realize that Kane actually did much better. Kane's first weekend debuted also at #6 with a revenue of $4.5 Million. Although lower box office revenue, fans need to realize the low $8 Million budget to make the flick. Plus, WWE spent far less in advertising this film, and most important - the film was seen is far less movie theatres. In fact, Kane's movie was shown in only 1257 theatres its opening weekend, 1/2 of The Marine had (approximately 2550).

When you subtract approximately 55% of the revenue due to the cut the studios receive, John Cena's film is in deep sh** to make profit.
