Kenta Kobashi Diagnosed With Serious Illness (Renal Cancer); Tiger Khan Passes Away

Last night when we did our Minority Report webcast, we received a sad rumor floating around that Marlon Kalkai aka Tiger Khan passed away. I had hoped it was a joke but a short time later, Evan Ginzburg who was a close friend to Kalkai confirmed the sad news.

All that is known right now is that he was found dead in California. No cause of death is known at this time. He was only in his mid 30's. His name is pretty well known here on the northeast when he was involved with the UCW promotion.

Everyone here at 3e6r.net offers our condolences to the family and friends of Tiger Khan.

Some additional sad news. Hopefully with treatment he will be fine. But earlier today, Puroresupower.com reported the news that Kenta Kobashi has a renal tumor. If I am correct, that has to do with his Kidneys.

What's scary about this type of cancer is that if it has spread beyond his kidneys, there is only a 5-15% chance of survival over 5 years. If the cancer is caught early, survival rate is closer to 75%.

Here's what was posted on the Purorseu Power website:

A shocking announcement was made today by NOAH President Mitsuharu Misawa, as Misawa announced that Kenta Kobashi would undergo medical treatment to remove a renal tumor. The tumor was discovered during a medical check-up. Medical consultation is currently taking place. There is some concern that the tumor could be malignant. His participation in the "dream" tag match (he was going to partner with Yoshihiro Takayama vs. Jun Akiyama & Misawa on 7/16 at Nippon Budokan) is now canceled.

Everyone here at 3e6r.net offers our thoughts and prayers to Kenta Kobashi. Putting wrestling aside, we hope that he can recover from this.
