Earlier this week, WWE officials "offered" all the WWE writers to visit OVW so to get acquainted with the talent. All writers went on the trip with the exception of Brian Gewirtz. He declined to go, stating that it was his day off. Although he was entitled to keep his day off, WWE did not take it quite well that he choose not to go. WWE feels that since everyone was going, as well as the fact this was to help writers and WWE, Gewirtz should have gone. (I bet if you told him that there was a comic book convention going on in the area of OVW, he would have went.) TNA officials are upset with Brian Lee of the "New Church". Lee in the past had showed up late for TNA events, and occassionally "disappear" for moments at a time. However, it never interfered with his matches, as he was always there in time for his work in the ring. This past Wednesday, Lee showed up for TNA, and received his weekly check which the talent receives hours before the show. He was supposed to wrestler later that night in the 6 man tag. A few minutes after picking up his check, he disappeared again. He showed up almost an hour after the XPLosion tapings. Although in time for his match, still strange. Lee claims that when he receives his checks, he immediately visits a local check cashing establishment to cash his checks. He left to do this, and had some traffic in returning to the building. If you have noticed, in comparison to his Memphis and ECW days, he has dropped a tremendous amount of weight. However, he has also dropped 20-30 pounds since his TNA debut. I dont want to speculate, so I will leave this as a rumor. However, dropping 30 pounds, and in such a rush to cash checks, it reminds me of a few people here in NY that had drug problems. Quick loss of weight, and cashing checks within hours after receiving them. (Amongst other things not wrestling related). I just hope that it ends up that Lee is not added to this list. One of the better underrated talents of today, it would be a huge minus if he and TNA part ways. Yahoo movies has now added the Indy film "The Backyard" to their profiles. You may know of this movie circling around backyard wrestling, with vignettes of RVD in the film.
