Remember when Tracy Smothers accepted Paul Heyman & Kurt Angle's 'Open Challenge' prior to ECW One Night Stand 2? (CLICK HERE for that article) Well, WWE ignored the challenge. No shi*. Well, Tracy isn't the only one that is ready to accept any future assenine 'Open Challenges' WWE tries to make. Dave Meltzer reports in his Observer Newsletter that the UFC was none too happy about WWE using the '8 sided ring' reference but let it go without public comment. That's probably due to when WWE realized how stupid the remark was, they had 'Orton answer the challenge' so fast. However in the future, if WWE ever references MMA or UFC in an attempt to make WWE look 'superior', UFC will address it and publicly. The UFC source that spoke to Meltzer said they'll send Chuck Liddell to 'accept' any public challenges made, and will put pressure on WWE to make a WWF/UFC match happen. I know both sides make think on the surface that this could make money. But a UFC vs WWE match would do much more damage in the long run. Can you imagine the beating a WWE wrestler would take from an experienced MMA fighter? And even the worse. Can you imagine the MMA world if Chuck Liddell or another MMA fighter got their ass handed to them by a WWE wrestler? Using MMA terminology, this would be front page headlines: 'Chuck Liddell Whipped By Fake Wrestler'.I think UFC should 'answer' the challenges and speak publicly the next time WWE makes stupid comments using MMA references. But UFC ripped WWE publicly and made fun of their 'challenges' verbally, that would do more damage to WWE than having an actual fight. Beat em up verbally.
