Ric Flair Debates Kanyon On Howard Stern; New WWE Announcer; Raw Reunion / Cable Rank

During Kanyon's appearance today on Howard Stern, Ric Flair called into the show. The exchange between the two was quite entertaining, and we should have audio links online later tonight.

Basically Flair called in to shoot down Kanyon's claim that he was released by WWE because he was gay. Flair stated that despite being a good wrestler, Kanyon was let go because he didn't have the 'it' factor anymore. Flair did admit that Kanyon would talk about his personal life to other stars as well as his lifestyle. Flair denied knowing (at the time) that Kanyon was gay which Kanyon disagreed. Kanyon insisted that Flair had to defend WWE because they still pay him and that Vince McMahon needs to comment on the matter. Of course with WWE in Japan right now, that is not going to happen. They spoke on a few other topics, but nothing of importance.

The Times Express (PA) is reporting today that Jack Korpela (24 years old) has been hired as an on air broadcasting talent. Probably similar to how they use Josh Matthews. The article mentioned that he was a sports broadcaster, but at 24 how much experience does that really give him. Regardless, best of luck on his WWE future.

Amongst the top rated shows on basic cable last week, the 10/9/06 edition of Raw was ranked #3 for hour three, #4 for hour two, and #9 for hour one.
