Sandman Chats ECW; More On August WWE Divas Special; Bart Gunn vs Butterbean Rematch?

The Rumble World Entertainment website has posted results from the recent MMA event 'Beatdown' that took place over the weekend.

The site notes that over 4000 fans saw Mike Barton (formally Bart Gunn / WWF, WWE) defeated Cabbage Correira 1:46 in the first round due to referee stopping the fight.

Also noted on the site that Barton first contacted RWE after watching Butterbean beat Correira recently for their promotion. Remember Brawl For It All? Bet the ranch this fed will try and do the rematch between Butterbean vs Mike Barton. Even though Barton is now 42, he is in phoenominal shape and should be able to get his revenge on Butterbean.

The Sandman recently held an internet chat answering questions from fans. Putting the many 'I Don't Knows' and 'I Have No Ideas' aside (to no fault of Sandman due to the nature of the questions), here's a few items of interest.

- Even though we were all aware that the ECW stars were signed to one year deals with options up to 3, Sandman did publicly state he has signed for a year.

- When asked who he would like to see back in ECW, he noted The Dudleys, Raven, Rhyno, and Bam Bam Bigelow.

- If he could fight someone from Raw or Smackdown, he mentioned Rey Mysterio.

- He put over Tim Arson (aka The Zombie) and said he'd like to see him stick around in ECW. Sandman noted that he enjoyed his Zombie segment. Interesting that the way he worded it, the idea of the 'Martian' was WWE's but Sci-Fi balked at it. (Many thought Sci-Fi wanted the martian but balked at the beatdown) This must be a joke that Sandman said WWE then came up with 'The Cook' to spoof the Food Network but then when with the Zombie.

- When asked about the rest of the show, Sandman claimed he didn't see it.

- When asked about New Jack, he thinks that he could be coming in but wasn't sure.

- He put over the WWE locker room and how everyone was respectful. He put over Big Show in particular as someone going out of his way for them.

WWE sent out this press release this afternoon regarding the '06 Divas Search. If you're not a 'Cut And Paste' artist and actually read the release, it noted a few points of interest:

1) The Divas Search will only use up 4 weeks of TV this year (Thank God)
2) The Divas Search will happen on Raw and Smackdown
3) The Mid-August 'Divas' special we mentioned over the weekend CLICK HERE will have to do with the Divas Search and crowning a winner. And it will be LIVE.
