Test On His Release; Hulk Hogan On WWE Money Issues w/ Wrestlemania ; ECW 'Extremists' No More

Andrew 'Test' Martin posted the following statement on his Myspace page regarding his WWE release:

"Just want to thank you fans for the last year...I love to hear you boo me. I always said I would get out of wrestling when it wasn't fun anymore....and that's what I did. Don't get me wrong I still love wrestling, I always will but right now the WWE is not for me but no sour grapes I had some fun up until a month ago when the politics kicked in like they always do and at first ECW was so much fun, I can only imagine it when it was the real ecw but when Paul Heyman left ECW left with him..what was left of it. Sorry if I let any of you fans down but I needed to leave there for me...so to all the fans thanks again."

Over at the ECW website, WWE has replaced the term 'Extremists' with 'Superstars'. No word if this will be a permanent change. However as I look thru the ECW website, most references of the term 'Extremists' are replaced.

Hulk Hogan made another appearance on Bubba The Love Sponge Monday. Not much newsworthy coming out of his appearance other than his talk about Wrestlemania. He did note that yesterday was the first day of shooting for the next season of Hogan Knows Best. He also claimed that UFC was a 'work / shoot' where the fights were a shoot, but everything else was worked.

Focusing on Wrestlemania 23, we already know now it was pretty much a money issue leading to Hogan not appearing. Hogan claimed that Vince McMahon wanted to put alot of attention to the 20 Year Anniversary of Wrestlemania 3 from the hype, history, and a Hogan match. But McMahon didn't want to pay him accordingly.

Hogan wouldn't reveal what his asking price was for Wrestlemania 23. However when Bubba brought up a sample amount of $2 Million, Hogan said he would have been there for that amount. Bubba then brought up an amount of $400,000 and asked if that was the range of the WWE offer, which Hogan teased it was.
