WWE 'Creative' Way Of Handling Randy Orton Issue On Raw, WWE.com, PPV

Everyone reading this for the most part, is already aware of Randy Orton being sent home by WWE for behavioral issues. There are variations of what exactly occurred overseas with Orton. There are two leading claims which appear to have merit. The first is that he trashed a hotel room overseas resulting in damages anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000. When you realize a furnished apartment normally has about $30,000 in contents (for the entire apt), can you imagine what this moron did? The second claim was that he was found passed out after the incident occurred.
How WWE has handled it so far publicly is receiving laughter by many.
In the case of 'which one is it WWE?', here's how they handled Randy Orton on WWE.com the last 24 hours.
Last night at the Raw taping, the titantron advertised a Raw match of 'Randy Orton vs Edge' to the live crowd. This obviously didn't happen since Orton is back in the states for disciplinary reasons.
News of that match being hyped was reported all over the net. WWE then posted the following to try and clear up their f*** up:
Although other matches were scheduled for the night, including a contest pitting Edge against Randy Orton, the length of the main event left no room for other battles.
So if you keep that thinking, WWE is basically say the match would have happened, if Cena vs Edge didnt go so long.
Not so fast. This is how bad WWE is creatively sometimes. They could not figure out a way to explain Orton's abscence on Raw. Personally, they would have did so much better by not mentioning him at all, other than the PPV match for Sunday.
However, they intentionally teased an Orton / Edge match last night knowing it wouldnt happen. They reasoning is that by Cena / Michaels going long would be their creative excuse why he didnt appear. It's a sad way of deceiving the live crowd, especially since it occurred overseas.
Of course you'll get Good Ole JR or someone else to try and post a blog claiming the match (between Orton & Edge) was originally supposed to happen. Yet they'll never explain why the graphic was made after Orton was sent home, knowing he wasn't appearing.
Now with going on the public excuse WWE used that Orton didn't appear cause HBK / Cena went long, they do a 360 today and posted this one liner:
WWE has taken action against Randy Orton for unprofessional conduct.
Now how ridiculous does that comment look when they are also hyping him for a PPV the same week?
Dave Meltzer over at the Wrestling Observer notes that Orton may only be fined and could work the Backlash PPV. Meltzer also reports that Vince McMahon is quite upset that everyone and their mother has reported Orton's incident before WWE. I laugh at how WWE is 'upset' at the news leaked out. You look at how they handled it since it was leaked, and it makes them look even more ridiculous. More on this story when it comes in.
I strongly recommend everyone to check out the Minority Report webcast we did Monday (4/23). A very candid and quite controversial conversation on Randy Orton. From his AWOL days, to his soon to be spouse, his family history, behavioral issues, steroids, and the possibility of Orton being released. It's definitely worth a listen.
