WWE & Extremists Hate Schoolkids; New ECW TV Deal Announced; Two Ravens?

I literally fell out of my chair laughing when I read this one. Does the above PWSpyware geek look like he has kids? Does he look like he has any family returning to school?

I doubt it. But to show you a perfect example of how bad PWSpyware gnomes are drinking some extremist Kool-Aid, check this out.

ECW's rating on Sci-Fi tanked this week in the ratings. The show scored a 1.9 which was way down from the 2.3 and 2.4 the show has been receiving. On our webcast we thought the rating would possibly increase this week due to Raw viewers having to tune in to Sci-Fi for Raw. But, with the announcement of Heyman vs Sabu and the DX invading ECW all but solidified (as we've been telling you for 3 weeks now), the show suddenly sounded sh***. Hence many viewers decided to watch other programming that night.

What does this Extreme gnome blame the ratings decline on?

Quote: It should be noted that this is a notoriously bad week for TV viewing with parents getting ready to send their children back to school and older kids getting ready to return/returning to college.

The ratings drop is blamed on school kids preparing to go back to school. Thanks Dave for some real good material for this Monday's Minority Report webcast.

The following is a press release issued last night publicly announcing the new ECW TV deal between WWE & Sci-Fi:

New York, N.Y., August 31, 2006 - SCI FI Channel today announced it will keep its new hit program, ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling®), on the network through at least the end of 2007. ECW is produced by World Wrestling Entertainment®, the producer of the No. 1 weekly basic cable TV series, “Monday Night RAW®” on USA Network.

ECW debuted on SCI FI as a summer series in June on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, providing an alternative brand of wrestling suited to fit the Channel’s commitment to fuel the imagination. The program met with immediate success, with its premiere attracting more than 1.8 million new viewers to SCI FI; 43% of the ECW's premiere audience had not watched the SCI FI Channel during the prior 4 weeks. The debut also set a Channel record for a series premiere attracting 1.07 million viewers 18-34, the most ever in the demographic.

ECW has remained consistent throughout its summer run, averaging about 2.7 million viewers and ranking as one of SCI FI's highest rated weekly programs. It has consistently been one of the top-rated programs in primetime on Tuesday among male teens and one of the top-rated cable programs in households.

I know there were two Undertakers, two Hebners, and recently two Kanes. But were there ever 2 Ravens?

Thanks to Ched Stout for sending me this article. I couldn't help but laugh when I read it. Maybe you will too.
