WWE RAW RESULTS - 8/4/2003
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Shane McMahon kicked off Raw and told us what he started with Kane and the steel chair last week, he came to finish tonight. Eric Bischoff quickly interrupted and said there was nothing more he'd want to see than Shane taking on Kane, however Bischoff said he couldn't make that match. He did however, announce Kane vs. Rob Van Dam for SummerSlam. Bischoff then informed Shane that he was given specific orders from Vince McMahon to have Shane removed from the building tonight with the help of security. Bischoff told Shane he wouldn't do that and said Shane could leave on his own. Shane refused and said he was staying in the ring unless Bischoff wanted to try and make him leave himself. Bischoff told Shane the reason Vince McMahon picked him as a general manager was because he can control his emotions but he told Shane to watch out and added two words for him, "black belt." Steve Austin then decided to intercede and he too told Shane to take a hike, but Shane stayed put. Austin mentioned how Bischoff "cared very deeply" for Linda McMahon and talked about Bischoff's thing for mature women. Austin said since Shane couldn't take on Kane, why not take out his frustrations out on Bischoff tonight in a no holds barred match. Bischoff argued it and reminded Austin that neither of them could lay their hands on a WWE superstar. Austin asked Shane if he was a contracted WWE superstar, which he's not, so the match was on. Bischoff again argued but then calmed down and said it was on.

Bubba Ray Dudley (with D-Von Dudley) defeated Rene Dupree (with Sylvain Grenier). Grenier got himself involved while the ref had his back turned. Eventually, D-Von got in there and with the ref's back turned again, cracked Dupree in the head with the flagpole. Bubba then followed up with a BubbaBomb for the win.

Backstage, Bischoff rushed into Evolution's dressing room and before we cut to break, he told Triple H he had an offer for him.

Randy Orton defeated Scott Steiner (with Stacy Keibler). Orton made a crack about everybody coming to see his nipple's rather than Stacy's, and it was pretty lame. Steiner controlled a good part of the match but Orton got his shots in as well. Late in the match, Test ran down and got thrown into the ring by Steiner who chopped him into the corner and then dumped him back to the outside. Steiner then turned right around into an RKO and Orton got the win.

Backstage, Bischoff asked Triple H if they had a deal and H told him it was on.

Meanwhile, Rosey tried to tell The Hurricane he was ready to be a superhero now but Hurricane told him he wasn't quite ready yet. Christian approached the two and said he left Booker T in a heap of his own dreadlocks down in Australia and he asked Hurricane what made him think he could beat him tonight. His Hurripowers, of course. Biatch. Christian left and then Hurricane turned around to see Rosey with a S.H.I.T. kit. Again, Hurricane told him he wasn't ready but Rosey begged to differ.

Backstage also, Bischoff spoke with Rodney Mack and then Austin walked in and Mack left, I guess he was just there to let us know he didn't fall off the face of the planet. Anyway, Austin wanted to know what was up with Bischoff's deal with Triple H. Bischoff told Austin he had made the SummerSlam match between H and Goldberg a no disqualification match and also he had Evolution in his corner tonight against Shane. Austin said he thought it sucked but Bischoff told him there was nothing he (Austin) could do about it.

Christian defeated The Hurricane. Pretty quick match, Christian countered Hurricane and then rolled him up with a handful of tights for the win. Hurricane tried to get the ref to restart the match but Christian attacked him and went for the Unprettier as The Hurricane's music started up again and out walked Rosey in a orange and purple costume (complete with a purple mask and a "Super Hero In Training" shirt on). Rosey leveled Christian with wicked sidewalk slam and then he and Hurricane did their superhero pose.

Backstage, the paddywagon (as Coachman likes to call it) arrived as we saw Kane inside it.

Goldberg defeated Ric Flair (with Triple H) via DQ. H took a seat with Coach and Lawler as Goldberg got the quick start on Flair. Later on though, Flair came back with some of his trademark heel moves, the chop block, the poke to the eyes, etc. Goldberg then regained control and was set to put Flair away when Randy Orton jumped in the ring and clocked Goldberg across the back with a chair. H left the announcing table and headed down to the ring and reached under the apron and brought out the sledgehammer as Flair kept Goldberg down with a lowblow. H drilled Goldberg in the gut with the sledgehammer just as Shawn Michaels ran in the ring and attacked Flair and Orton while H made it to the outside. Chris Jericho then ran in and attacked Michaels but shortly after that, Kevin Nash stepped in the ring, brandishing a chair and the ring cleared out. Austin then walked out and grabbed a mic from the announce table. Austin said since he couldn't change the main event at SummerSlam, he decided to add on to it. Austin said the match, along with Goldberg and Triple H, would now involve Chris Jericho, Kevin Nash, Randy Orton and Shawn Michaels in the Elimination Chamber.

After the break, Nash and Michaels were still in the ring when Jericho ran back in and tried to attack Nash but Nash delivered the big boot and then dropped Jericho with the Jackknife powerbomb.

Backstage, Flair was getting some medical attention thanks to the spear he received from Goldberg. Bischoff entered and asked Triple H if the deal was still on. H told Bischoff the deal was still on only if Bischoff could do something about what Austin had just done to the SummerSlam main event. Bischoff said it was out of his hands so H told Bischoff of he was on his own. Bischoff looked disappointed for a second and then the lightbulbs seemed to go off as he ran out of the room.

Trish Stratus defeated Molly Holly via DQ (Molly retains the title). A few close calls here and there, other than that, nothing exciting until the end when Victoria ran down and hit Trish with a spinning sidewalk slam out on the floor. The ref called for the DQ right there. Victoria tossed Trish back in the ring to dish out some more punishment but Molly got in her face and those two brawled until Gail Kim ran in and knocked them both out of the ring. Kim then helped Trish to her feet but clotheslined her right back down. The ref tried to keep Kim off her but Kim grabbed Trish and hit her with an Alabama slam.

Backstage, Shane charged at the police van housing Kane and tried to get in but the guards pulled him away.

Meanwhile, Lance Storm admitted that he was boring. He asked Goldust for help in becoming unboring. Goldust said they were going to have a buh-buh-buh-ba-bah-ball! Yeah.

Back to the police van, Bischoff approached and said Shane had attacked two officers. The officers rushed off as Bischoff pulled out a set of keys and seemed set to unlock Kane.

Rob Van Dam defeated Chris Jericho. Plenty of nearfalls, some nice high risk spots on the outside and aside from one small botch, it was definitely an excellent match. After Van Dam caught Jericho coming off the second rope with a dropkick, he executed the split-legged moonsault for the clean win. Afterwards, Jericho grabbed a mic and said this was a conspiracy against him. He said the only reason he lost the match was because of Kevin Nash attacking him earlier. Jericho vowed to take something away from Nash that he held dear and challenged Big Sexy to a hair vs. hair match sometime down the road.

After the break, Bischoff made his way to the ring with a sparring pad and had a ringside assistant hold it for him as he demonstrated some kicks. Shane then made his way out and the match was on.

Eric Bischoff defeated Shane McMahon in a no holds barred match. Bischoff got in a few nice kicks early but Shane speared him and beat him down. Kane then walked out, unchained and Shane went after him on the outside. Shane threw a crapload of punches and tried to choke Kane out with a cable but Kane dropped him on the floor and then threw him into the security barricade. Kane then took the bottom half of the steel steps and dropped Shane with a Tombstone piledriver on them. Bischoff told Kane to throw Shane back in the ring, which he did and Bischoff made the easy pin. Bischoff then ran around celebrating like he had just won the title and went up to high five with Coach and Lawler as the show ended.
