CURRENT REPORT:MAY 17, 2002

I just want to apologize to Anthony for already putting up another coulumn this week. This is going to be more of a rant. I dont want to overstay my welcome here but I need to get some shit off of my chest and I dont think it can wait until the end of the week. Raw was absolutely BRUTAL this week. Ive been watching wrestling a long time and this was the first time that I can remember wanting to just give it all up. It's just so frustrating to watch a show that was once the best program on cable turn into a joke. How hard could it possibly be, with all the talent that Vince has, to put on a show that makes sense. I'm not just talking about Raw becasue I know it doesnt have as many big names as Smackdown. What a complete waste of time the first segment of Raw was. We have most of the wrestlers on the Raw roster (not all as JR said) surrounding the ring. Then Vince comes down to spew some bullshit about "Ruthless Aggression", bragging about how he bought WCW and beat the Justice System.What is the big climax to this segemnt?? Booker T. and Goldust vs X Pac and Big Show, Undertaker vs. Jeff Hardy and Eddy Geurrero vs Bubba Ray Dudley!! We needed all of that to announce THOSE matches?? Right then and there the crowd died for good. A dead crowd makes an already bad show, almost unwatchable. We then get Justin Hawk Bradshaw and man who should be regulated to B level shows, Spike Dudley vs William Regal and Chris (Whatever his last name is) Harvard. Just awful. What the hell happened to Bradshaw?? He gets pinned by a Tough Enough loser!! By the way, I know this was a tag match, but if the hardcore title is on the line 24/7, shouldnt Chris Harvard be the hardcore champ?? Of course we have to sit through another "Vince is a Stud" segment with him and Jackie from Tough Enough. By the way, how the hell is it that all of a sudden Jackie and Linda are on Raw?? Vince...you are starting to lose me. Bubba Ray Dudley vs. Eddy Geurrero should have been a match with some kind of heat after what happened last night but all it was, was a 1 minute disaster!!! Why bother having Bubba cost Eddy a match on the ppv, if this is gonna be the pay off???!!! Unacceptable. BTW, I lothe when Bubba yells his name out to get the tables. Later on is the "BIG" loser leaves Raw match. Raven vs. Tommy Dreamer was one of the longest and greatest on going feuds in ECW history. Tonight it was reduced to nothing but a shell of what it used to be. The crowd was so dead during this match that I think I heard someone in the crowd ordering a soda. After Dreamer won, his reaction to winning actually seemed legit. The "corination" of Brock Lesner was so predicatable. You gotta wonder why they even bother putting out the red carpet over the ring. Then we have the tag match that was so important that we needed the whole roster to come out to the ring in the beginning of the show to hear it announced. What good is it to push Booker T if he's not on the ppv the night before and hes on the losing end of a tag match the next night?? It seemed as if the WWE was trying to turn Brock Lesner face by having Paul Heyman annoy the crap out of him with all his banter, then we have Lesner put RVD through a table to end the show. Yep...have him destroy one of your most popular guys...that will get him over as a face. By the way, where the hell were Flair and Benoit? I gotta admit that the best part of the show were the Goldust segments, and you know when that is the case, you are in big, BIG trouble. Ruthless Aggression my ass. Just brutal.
